Uehara Furosen Yodan 1.8L

Uehara Shuzo was founded in 1862 and is located in Takashima on the North-western side of Lake Biwa. The current 7th brewery owner is Isao Uehara.

The 7th generation family brewers have gone back to producing more of their sake each year without any additional cultivated yeasts and they use traditional brewing methods where possible. They have also revived the tradition of using wooden casks for fermenting most of their sake as they believe it provides better insulation for cold and heat rather than metal which reacts more rapidly to ambient temperature changes. The brewery also utilising the pressing technique ‘Tenbin Shibori’ (Wooden beam pressing) for all of the sake they produce. This wooden press takes 3 days to gently press the sake rather than the 12-18 hours it would take if they used a modern Yubata mechanical press. With such attention to detail these are truly some of the finest sake being made in Japan today.

Next Day Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $150+, or $25 flat fee. Orders are delivered from 12pm - 8pm. Next day delivery cut off is at 12pm. Orders must be placed by 12pm to be delivered the following day. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered the day after. No 'next day' delivery on Sundays; only 1-hour deliveries apply. 'Next day' orders placed after Friday 12pm will be fulfilled on Monday.

There will be no next-day deliveries on Sundays, public holidays or days that the store is closed, unless otherwise announced online.

1-Hour Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $300+, or $35 flat fee. Orders are delivered between 12pm - 4pm. Place order by 3pm latest to receive within the hour. Orders placed after 3pm cut off will be delivered the following day. Please expect delays with unfavourable weather conditions.

Wrong Addresses or No Recipients
Please ensure that delivery addresses, particularly for gifts, are entered correctly otherwise additional costs may be incurred.
