This is the wine formerly known as Axel's 'Brutal' or 'Fatal Brutal,' The
cuvée's name comes from an old poster during the largely student-led student May '68 protests in France; it translates to "Capitulation Does Not Pay!" Axel Prüfer tends 8.5 hectares of vines in La Tour-sur-Orb in France's Languedoc. This is the first picking of Cinsault which was macerated for just a couple of days in whole bunches within the press.

A man of incredible generosity of time and spirit, extremely hard-working and led by his convictions –  Axel Prufer also happens to make fantastic wines! It is not easy to produce delicate and fresh wines from such a brutal environment, but Axel manages it year on year. Picking at the right moment and a delicate touch in the cellar are crucial.  In the winery all grapes are fermented in whole bunches, including the whites, and see élevage in large tanks (mainly fibreglass). The cellar has been adapted so there is no need for a pump with all rackings fed by gravity.
