Arnot-Roberts Gamay El Dorado comes from two vineyards lying at 2,000 metres above sea level. The vines are planted on decomposed granitic soils and clay of volcanic origin. They are cultivated using organic agriculture and no chemical products. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Arnot-Roberts Gamay El Dorado grapes are fermented with all the stems through a partial carbonic maceration. The wine is then aged for 10 months in used French oak barrels. Considering that Gamay is an unusual variety in California, Arnot-Roberts Gamay El Dorado is quite a surprise.
