A Barbera of rare balance and complexity from 40-80 year old vines in his Altavilla vineyard, high in the hills above Alba. Dense, brambly fruit and a welcome freshness thanks to the hallmark acidity for which the grape is so well known.

One of the most sought after names in Barbaresco, Olek Bondonio is not your typical Italian winemaker. He loves surfing, snowboarding and has a penchant bordering on the obsessive for Vegemite.
He grew up in his family's farmhouse La Berchialla. It sits amongst Barbaresco's most famous names such as Gaja and the Barbaresco producers, to whom Olek sold his grapes before he started making his own wine in 2005.
Olek works organically with a real hands on approach, whilst in the cellar he exhibits a patience beyond his years. His wines are precise, pure and deep with a character inspired by old school expressions of Piedmont’s local grapes.
